Pediatric Average Length of Stay for Asthma |
|
Pediatric average length of stay (ALOS) for asthma is a measure that evaluates the efficiency of care provided in a hospital when a pediatric patient is admitted to the hospital to treat asthma symptoms. Typically, a lower ALOS indicates that hospital care is more effective and efficient.
This measure is severity-adjusted which means the ALOS calulation takes into account patients that are more sick which can influence the length of stay in a hospital. Click here for a detailed explaination on the computation of severity-adjusted ALOS.
