DVT/PE Patient Safety Measure

In review of the patients with this condition, the majority of patients had a clot prior to arrival which is not necessarily reflected in this data. The Medical Center of Aurora is proactive in the prevention of blood clots for both surgical and non-surgical patients. Our hospital screens all patients admitted for risk factors and provides appropriate treatment to prevent the formation of a blood clot.
