Pediatric Inpatient Volume Measures

Pediatric inpatient volume measures report the total number of pediatric patients that have been admitted to a hospital for certain medical conditions. As opposed to the adult volume measures that are also reported on this website, pediatric inpatient volumes only report on the number of patients that have been admitted to the hospital for certain medical conditions; they do not report the number of procedures that have been performed.

Pediatric patients are typically regarded as a special patient population, and in a non-emergent situation, parents like to know if hospitals typically treat pediatric patients on a regular basis.
